I haven't updated in forever... but I guess nearly everyone on my friends list have just gotten tired of the whole "LJ" thing.
School's going well, I have an apartment lease signed for next year, and Randall Munroe, the XKCD guy, gave a presentation at my school yesterday... it was hilarious and well worth the ~1 hr 30min.
How's everyone else doing?

So I managed to survive another year.
It feels weird knowing you only have a year left to be a teenager.

Eminem - Like Toy Soldiers |

Wow, it's finally summer. And it feels weird. It just started for me, really. I had a busy week after school.
Thursday, the day I got back, some friends of mine from out of town came up here and we all stayed at/around the Hyatt in Rosemont... until Monday[Tuesday for me]. After picking people up, stuff happening, dropping people off at Midway, I ended up driving all the way into Michigan [the one where you drive all the way through Indiana]. The fun part was that we followed that terrible storm all the way there. Pouring rain almost the entire time, lightning, and not being able to see more than 50 feet in front of you while going 70 on the highway...fun times. But really, there's a highway sign in Michigan that is like... 'Climax, 1 1/2 mi.'. Crazy shit. The drive home right after wasn't bad because I crashed in South Bend, Indiana at my friend Anf's apartment. The drive home the next morning sucked because I was ass deep in rush hour... took me an hour to cover the last 10-15 miles of the trip. Fuck Chicago traffic.
But yeah, summer feels weird.
I need to get a job.

People are fucking morons. I was driving down Oakton, the street I live on, to get to Dee to go to Steak and Shake with some friends after a poker game. I was stopped at a light at the intersection of Oakton and Northwest Highway. The light turned green and someone went, and I think someone stopped to turn left, so the person in front of me stopped, so I stopped, but guess what? The person behind me was a fucking dumbass and didn't and rear ended me. I froze and wondered what the fuck to do. He pulled to the right and I thought he was going to pull to the side but instead the driver takes off. Yes, I got fucking hit and run. Luckily, I was able to memorize their license plate, so I guess the person is going to get fucked over since I made a police report.
I think my car might be too damaged to bother repairing. I think it is worth somewhere in the range of 2-2.5k, and my bumper is completely messed up. I dont know how to describe it but it got forced forward and it's kind of bent on the sides and it's hanging low. :\ I am really pissed. What a shitty thing to happen on Spring Break....

I owe a livejournal post, don't I?
First of all, I will say that I (finally) changed my icon. Donnie Darko is amazing, but I think I have had that icon since I made this journal. Plus, the lateralus eye + some trippy animation is way cooler right now.
My first semester of college is over! I will hopefully only have 5 more. I really want to graduate early. I actually think I would be able to do it EVEN earlier, but I think I will try taking some grad school classes instead if I run out of interesting stuffs to take :) My grades are pretty good, from the ones I've seen so far, but I think there is a B or two in there, but eh, c'est lave. I used to know how to spell that, I promise.
Saturday [on no sleep, mind you.] was buffalo wild wings + bowling + steak and shake with Andrew, Rob, Woj, Perez, Jason and Vince. Today I made a woodfield run with Jason because I wanted to pick up some small gift-type stuffs for family. I wondered if one could get drunk off of those rum chocolates, but I think eating a whole box of them would lead to puking from all that fucking chocolate. ( Read more... )
Full schedule but eh, not too worried.
Taste of Chaos is going to UofI!!! The Used, 30 Seconds to Mars, Senses Failed. I can't wait. Also, Buckcherry is always near by whenever I am not. They are 30 minutes away at Libertyville a week after I go back to school. Fuck that. The ONE time I go to see them THE MAIN SINGER GETS LARYNGITIS! The gods are working against me to not let me see them. I want Tool to tour in America again :( Why are they going to AUSTALIA the beginning of next year? Gah.
I was tired before I decided to check facebook / email / blog, and now I am not. :((((.

Haven't felt like updating this for awhile; I still read peoples' LJs but I just can't find anything to blog about myself, really. College is still going really well though. I went home last weekend... hung out with Jason and even went bowling friday night with some people. I still suck at bowling. At least I don't consitently gutter at least one of my throws anymore.
I had an appointment with my advisor today.. and I might get a job as a research assistant this summer working under him :) He's using compton scattering [basically firing photons are stuff and using detectors to find the scattering pattern] to measure the polarizability of neutrons. I think he mentioned that I would be part of the data analysis team so I'd have to code some stuff to analyze data. It sounds interesting and if I get the job [he said to talk to him in the Spring], I get a stipend too :) Hope that works out.
I've been watching lost with my roommate and some other friends; I'm officially hooked on the show. I've watched random episodes from season 2 and all the news one... I need to get my hands on the season 1 set so I can watch them ):. Anyway, I should be heading to bed soon. Early classes are teh suck.

Man, it's a kinda crappy feeling when you only get one question wrong on a midterm.
Especially when it's the last question; >:(. In retrospect, it was me confusing the relationship of what determines the height of a central maxima as opposed to the width of the central maxima. Bahh
oh well, regardless, I'm happy with the result, + 14.7 % [out of 15]

Underoath - Down, Set, Go |
] |
College has been awesome so far.. let me see if I can list some memories [holy shit, it's only been 2 weeks?]
-Move-in day. My dorm is by far one of the worst on the campus, but eh, whatever. -Roommate is cool. Him and I get along really well. -Anton's 7 lbs roast he brought down from Park Ridge that we BBQed in a park -Random frat parties that seem to always be going on -Anton's fucking amazing hookah table -Pina Colada night in Mike+Anton's dorm -Other stuff I can't remember right now. -Played in the most aggressive poker game I have ever seen yesterday. $20 buyin cash game, .25/.50 blinds. It was pretty fun, I only lost my initial buy in which lasted me 6 hours. Honestly, every single raise was like '$3! $5! $18!'. It took awhile to get used to, and I had to play a tighter game than usual, but I was doing pretty well until my JJs got destroyed by AAs. [Pocket Js never win, according to my usual poker group =o( ].
Classes have been alright. Phys325: so far it hasn't been too hard, it just is incredibly boring at 8:30AM and the teacher seems to be highly disorganized. She kind of reminds me of Andrews, I think. My discussion leader's name is Suk Bum Chung. Literally. I understand every hundreth word he says. It sucks. Math385: Oh god this class is terrible. I like the teacher and the people seem alright, but oy. Taking a class you have already taken before it just terrible. I've already skipped it twice. My goal is to go only ~70% of the time, if that, and still get an A+. CS125: An easy class for me where all the lecture notes are on the website. The teacher is really, really awesome. In the middle of one of our lectures, an instant message popped up saying something to the effect of "Thanks for the help and thanks for the wonderful date last night ;)". He said he had never been so embarrassed in his life. It's a big lecture, 300ish people, but the lecture hall is AWESOME. We have office swivel chairs :) Phys214: I'm not used to learning Physics in a lecture hall with like, 300 people in it. The teacher seems alright, and my discussion leader is awesome. Phys199HT: Ugh, this is actually pretty hard. No final and only one homework set a week [usually one prob with multi parts].
Anyway. I'm taking a bus home today for the weekend. My mom wanted me to come home for the weekend and she offered to pay for the bus, and I need to pick up some things from home, so I figured why not. Anyone still stuck in Park Ridge want to do anything? I think I have plans for all of saturday night and dinner time Sunday night but I should be free the rest of the time.

You know you're going to have a bad night when you're driving on a US highway thing [US-45 in my case], and you have to take a bad piss. And your destination is off of 191st street. And you just passed 45th street. Fucking Josh Todd getting laryngitis. Oh well, shit happens.. only wasted 2 hrs driving =\

Mindless Self Indulgence - Bitches |

I found my roommate info out a few days ago, some guy who lives in NJ who used to live in Michigan who is moving back to Michigan, or something. He seems pretty cool, I think I'll get along with him really well and have a lot of fun.
3 weeks left. I wish it were tomorrow =\ I can't wait.

I'd post about what I've been up to, but I can't work up the will to + this debate's been on my mind.
Krakken. How do you pronounce it? crackin', or cray-ken. We had a huge battle at the poker tables over it [I walked away with +20 all together today : )]
p.s. pat: cthulhu destroys the krakken.

Mindless Self Indulgence - Thank God |

Friday: M.S.I. concert! Got to Pat's house at around 5, chilled with him for awhile, then got picked up by Liz, who then picked up Lauren, and we drove over to Chicago for the show. How did we find the place it was showing at? Well, I suggested finding the first person with pink hair we see and follow them. It more or less did work, even though by the time we found smoeone with pink hair, we knew where we were going. I can't even remember what the first opener band was called, but they had one guitar and three vocalists.. and they were kind of terrible. One of the singers actually screamed pretty well, though. Then, there was Tub Ring, who was pretty awesome and got the crowd going. By this time, Pat and I were a few feet away from the front. Then, Kill Hannah came on with laser pointers built into their guitars, which was pretty cool. They put on a good show, but they were no where near as good as Mindless. As soon as Jimmy Urine went on stage, everyone went fucking crazy. The show was just amazing; they were awesome, insane, and hilarious. Definitely was a good show and was worth the $30.
Yesterday: Poker from 1-10. Gr. So pissed about it. I played Rob heads up for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours and my pocket aces ended up getting busted by a flush he hit. Oh well.
I got woken up today by my mom asking for my S.S. # saying she's going to get me one of those heavilty limited credit cards or something o_O That was random.
